AIRFARES
The best deals on flights to Armenia are found anywhere between two and four months before your intended departure date. Avoid booking any earlier because airlines tend to overprice flights that are booked too early. Note that July and August is high season, so fares may be relatively expensive during those months.

Do your fare shopping on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. They're generally the cheapest days of the week to both book and fly. Date flexibility helps a lot as well since not every airline offers daily flights to/from Armenia. Monitor fares on and around your preferred travel dates for a week or two (or three) before booking. Book directly with the airline if you can and pay for any baggage fees up front to avoid price hikes and hassle at the airport.

You'll be flying into Yerevan's Zvartnots Airport (EVN).

Flying from Europe?
You're in luck! Budget airlines Ryanair, Wizz Air, Transavia, and airBaltic now serve EVN nonstop from select major cities across Europe for as low as €35 one-way. If budget's not your style, try Air France (via Paris CDG), Austrian Airlines (via Vienna), Ukraine Intl Air (via Kyiv), Aegean Airways (via Athens), LOT Polish (via Warsaw), TAROM (via Bucharest), or Aeroflot (via Moscow SVO). With tons of options and relatively short distances to travel, flying anywhere from Europe is both affordable and convenient.

Flying from the US?
Aeroflot is by far your best bet. They offer the quickest routes at affordable prices aboard new aircraft from New York (JFK), Washington DC, and Los Angeles. Your next best options in terms of service, duration, and value include LOT Polish and Air France. Austrian Airlines also isn't bad, but their long-haul fleet is rather old. Qatar Airways ranks at the bottom of my list simply due to duration. While the airline itself is top-notch, its US-to-Doha routes are just too long. They pass directly (and rather annoyingly) over Armenia by 1,100 miles, adding at least six hours to your journey.

Flying from Australia/Asia?
Dubai or Moscow are your quickest gateways to Yerevan, depending on the city of origin. If you're traveling from Australia/SE Asia, hop on an Emirates flight. While it may not be the cheapest option, it's certainly the best-valued when number of stops and duration amongst competitors is considered. Flights from cities further north likely include a tolerable layover in Moscow with S7 Airlines (DME) or Aeroflot (SVO) if Emirates isn't an option.

Flying from South America?
Your options are a little more limited. Air France/KLM provides the quickest routes and shortest layovers. If you're interested in spending 21 hours exploring the city of Doha on your inbound leg to Yerevan, then fly with Qatar Airways. You may come across cheaper fares with Ryanair or Wizz Air in the mix, but they include airport transfers, which certainly are not fun by anyone's standards.
